In cooperation with high schools, universities, ministries, and other educational institutions worldwide, we guide groups of German teachers to continue their professional development and improve their everyday teaching performance. By working closely with Austrian and German expert lecturers, and based on the Goethe and Cambridge framework, we equip both new and experienced German teachers with instant skills and knowledge to improve their performance in the classroom. All participants receive an official certification of completion detailing the program workload and content.


Most of our groups consist of teachers that are non-native speakers of German, and who wish to update their language skills, extend their cultural knowledge and improve their didactic and methodological skills. In addition to a theoretical part with insightful linguistic, cultural and didactic components, a large part of the program is dedicated to hands-on practice. Teachers apply their new didactic and methodological skills in work groups, simulated and real classes and receive valuable formative and summative feedback. Moreover, teachers have the opportunity to observe real lessons held at our institute by expert teachers to reflect and inspire their own practice.


Course Modules

When compiling our teacher training programs, we work with questionnaires by means of which institutions or the teachers themselves can let us know exactly in which areas they would like to improve their teaching expertise. Based on this needs analysis we design a training program that may consist of the following modules:

Module 1: Language for German Teaching to strengthen teachers’ linguistic confidence in German
Module 2: Didactic Knowledge and Methodological Skills to improve their didactic knowledge and methodological skills
Module 3: Socio-cultural Knowledge of Austria and Germany to deepen their socio-cultural knowledge of the German speaking world
