Verena Kremsner grew up near Graz in the south of Austria. At the age of 18, she spent a gap year in England. Back in Graz, she completed a master’s programme in Translation Studies, during which she studied in Spain for a semester. In 2012 and 2013, she spent two semesters at the University of Illinois as a Fulbright teaching assistant. Afterwards she moved to Cologne, Germany, and worked there as a translator, language instructor and trainer. In 2015, she returned to Graz to pursue a university degree for teachers of German as a foreign language. After receiving her certificate, she spent a semester at the University of Pilsen (Czech Republic) and another semester at the University of Berlin to teach German as a foreign language. She then moved back to Austria as she was accepted to the programme Teach for Austria. As a school teacher, she worked with 11- to 14-year old students. She is now back to teaching German as a foreign language to adults, which is her true passion.
